The Immigration and Citizenship Agency of Somalia (ICA) concluded a two-day advanced training program focused on travel document examination and verification. The training aimed to equip immigration officers with sophisticated techniques to effectively examine and detect fraudulent documents using advanced technology.

The training program also provided comprehensive theoretical knowledge and practical exercises to enhance the officers’ skills and expertise. The officers were trained on various aspects of document examination, including identifying security features, detecting alterations and counterfeits, and differentiating between genuine and fraudulent travel documents.

Additionally, through hands-on experience with these advanced technologies, the officers developed also the ability to make accurate judgments in real-world scenarios and to operate the specialized devices and interpret the results provided by the technology. This enabled them to effectively identify and combat the use of fraudulent documents.

The Immigration and Citizenship Agency of Somalia strives to enhance the capabilities of its immigration officers in travel document examination to better deliver immigration services.
