ICA Somalia Officials Participate in IOM-Organized Meeting on Digital Legal Identity in Mombasa, Kenya

Officials from the Immigration and Citizenship Agency (ICA) of Somalia were among 52 representatives from 14 African countries who convened in Mombasa, Kenya for a meeting organized by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to discuss the digitization of national ID systems and the development of a harmonized digital ID framework across the continent.

The two-day meeting focused on strategies for securely digitizing national ID systems to facilitate data access and improve migration and integration processes throughout Africa. Participants shared best practices and explored compatible digital ID solutions that can enable safer mobility and better protect marginalized populations.
